Been travelling to Japan for 5 times now and this was my previous iternary :D Schedule - Japan ver.updated!-.xls Well i say you do need around S$3,000 if want to travel for about a week with some shopping included.

I be arranging another trip there, hopefully March ~ Apr 2009!
